BRIDGES

BRIDGES, The Shore Center's Transition Hub, located just down the street at 900 Green Grove Road, is dedicated to our 18-21-year-old students. This space allows our adult students to transition from a traditional school building to a community-focused and independent living environment. Our program was developed in collaboration with Rutgers Boggs Center, consultants from Monmouth University, and our Shore Center Transition Coordinator, BCBAs, and administration.

BRIDGES includes the following:

  • A functioning “community-facing” business. Tasks are determined based on student interest/ability and community need.
  • A workout area with gym equipment and space for yoga and exercise. This fulfills the mandatory NJDOE physical education requirement.
  • A kitchen and bedroom for practicing daily living skills.
  • A living room for leisure activities such as TV, puzzles, video games, etc.
  • A medical office with a nurse on staff.
  • Two 8-passenger vans to transport students to work-based learning sites in the community.
