The Shore Center Sea Turtles is our top-ranked Esports team! Our team is part of the Garden State Esports Unified League and engages in competitions with schools across the state. Esports provides students with autism a structured, engaging way to build essential skills while fostering confidence and inclusion. Team-based games create natural opportunities for social interaction, communication, and collaboration within a shared interest community, helping reduce social anxiety and build friendships. The strategic, goal-oriented nature of competitive gaming strengthens executive functioning skills such as planning, problem-solving, and persistence, while the predictable rules and feedback support emotional regulation and sportsmanship. Participation can also open vocational pathways through exposure to technology, media production, event management, and team roles beyond playing. Most importantly, esports offers a level playing field where students can be recognized for their talents, develop a positive sense of identity, and experience the pride of contributing to a school team.

Our students love our new state-of-the-art gaming lab!
