Hello! 
My name is Carlee Janes and I am so happy to be your child's music teacher this year! The Shore Center is such a special place to work and I love each and every one of your kids! For those of you who don't know me, I come to this school with a diverse musical background, but a focus on music in special education. I have bachelors from Rutgers in Music Education and Music Performance, as well as masters in Special Education and Elementary Education. 

In the 2022-2023 year we studied music through themes! Every month lessons was based around a different thematic unit, such as Space, and Oceans. In the month of September, we studied Space. We have done lessons on Star Wars, Gustov Holst's The Planets, and have so many more fun ones planned! In October we worked on Farms and animals, and then transitioned to working on our holiday show! January's topic was the arctic, brr!
